If I can run a 13.7 in my 97 which had less HP than your 5.3 at the time, you should be able to get in the high 13's, or low 14's with the right components. Gears make a big difference, I had 3.42's and went to 4.10's. Sure I lost sme gas mileage but the OD tranny still helped out. Are you running 3.42's? I was spraying the old Vortec and was able to take most supercharged or turbo trucks before I broke a valve spring. The truck weighed in at 5000 lbs with just me in it.
are you innercooled or meth injected.with this heat and the heat under your hood..your intake piping will get heat soaked and the pcm will pull so much timing from the motor...get a meth kit and hook it up and all will be good...with what you have...you should be running low 14's ....look at jerrys meth setup and get er done...
Brandon, heat will have alot to do with it; outside and intake temps. You refered to another car I had out there that ran slow also. Normally, a stock LS1 F-body with a STS only will run mid 12's. The heat will kill the car.
Getting the methanol and letting Allen tune for it will have a great effect.
