I agree with AFSP1211. You need to redo the trans with that many miles on the clock. If not you will be driving around with a ticking time bomb under you.

I say just make sure you have the cash to get it built. Buy other stuff as you get the money and wait for the explosion. Sometimes breaking shit is half the fun. Especially when you are already set up finacially to fix it.
So you guys are saying the trans is a weak link b/c of the miles? I hadn't given the trans any thought at all since it is working so well and the fluid is so clean and red. Now I'm worried about it, is it a common issue w/ these trans. to give out with out warning? I certainly don't want to have a trans failure f up an $800.00 torque converter. I think I my start adding trans parts to my everyday shopping list to have them on hand. Thanks.
Sooner or later the trans WILL fail. For now just be nice to it. No WOT 4-2 or 3-1 downshifts, keep fluid clean and temperature below 180*, leave some torque management in the tune, etc...
OK, I've decided to work on getting the truck better traction. I have already added track bars a while back, it eliminated the wheel hop but didn't really help the traction. They have adj. length pivot arms and I've got the sweet spot there I think. When the springs hit the end of the travel the truck squats, but the tires still don't even try to grip. Both tracks are identical in length and darkness. The truck also stays straight as an arrow. Thanks for any help.
Best way to improve traction is better tires without a doubt.
Stiffen up the rear suspension so that weight is transferred into the tires not the suspension. And do what kerrige said.
Like adding a leaf, or something like that?
