Haas controls are very similar to fanuc. Once you figure out fanuc, it's actually very easy to program. I ran a mazack at a different job once. It was awful. I did not like it at all.
We programed the lathes using a can cycle. G71 for turning in the z-axis and G72 for facing in the x-axis.

congrats on the job. Machinist field is what I've been in since 1980. I have been a CNC programmer and developer since 1990. If you ever have a question about it give me a hollar. I've run all kinds of machines and then went into a long time stent of the desktop side of the job. I work at Bell Helicopter in Grand Prairie, they take really good care of us there.
