TBI engines were really gutted as far as performance in my opinion. You have dish pistons, heads that had a swirl intake port, and a really small cam with less than 200 degrees duration. They were pretty dependable I guess though and still are. If you were going to do anything you might well start from stratch. A cam alone is not going to do much.
It's a nice truck...my father ordered it brand new in '95 after a tree fell on his '94 that had only 1200 miles on it...he's 92 yrs old now and doesn't drive it a lot except when he goes fishin....I know he would love the LS but I think he would get into trouble...he's always had a lead foot....not sure what it's worth but he keeps it spotless.......Quote:
