4 years and a baby turbo cam,
Dang...but how hard did you run it for those four years?
You are going to get good and bad reviews no matter what springs you go with. With the setup you are going with seems like you could go with almost any spring and be fine. Horror stories exist for every product. I personally like the extra insurance of dual springs if its rated to the right lift don't worry too much.
I really like my Patriot Extremes so far.....and I run mine hard. All the time.
Hmmm ...aren't 918 beehive springs ...

To the OP: The 918's are a good all around spring. Since you are saying a ~.550" lift cam, the 918s will work just peachie as they are good to .600". Remember something about springs ... you will lose power if run too high of spring pressure. It isn't a bunch of power, but the losses are of the parasitic type. Double springs are good insurance if you're cam needs it, but probably overkill for the cam you are looking at. Remember also, you'll need new seats, retainers, keys, and seals when you put the new springs in. Seals may not be needed, but are relatively cheap and this is the best time to replace them.
I think those are the springs that came in my cam kit from Thunder Racing. I used the exact same cam, 918 springs with stock retainers, keepers and seats. I didn't run them for a very long time with that cam but I certainly did run them hard and didn't have any problems. I still run them but I'm on my stock cam right now.
That was a while back so its hard for me to remember, but I think I remember it taking a while. I'll see if I can dig up any old emails as a clue. I wouldn't worry, though. I got all my stuff just as ordered. Trust me, I hate waiting for my new toys too.
cant go wrong with the patriot dual golds. very proven. 918s are good. but they have failed in the past. just not worth the risk to me. just my .02
