bummer, didn,t know that smoked lights are illegal. figures.. anyone know what the laws in texas are on smoked/tinting headlights and taillights? i found a place that sells pre-cut films. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT might try them out if they are legal..
lights have to be visible from 1000 ft. etc...so technically they are not illegal but if a cop wants to jack with you they have a reason..I was stopped twice for mine in 3 years so I fixed that problem
DPS told me that it's more than just the lights having to be visible from a 1000 feet.
They told me that the main problem is that you are required to have reflectors on the back of your vehicle and that most of the reflectors are in the light housing, so once you paint over them the reflectors no longer function as they should, blah, blah, blah.
Every since I got pulled over twice (both times were during the middle of the day) I just started running with my parking lights on, it may be a coincidence but I haven't been pulled over again.
Knocks on wood.
Yeah that's a good idea also.
I told them that I thought my license plate was enough reflector.
Ive got a set of stock lower headlights for your truck if you wanted to try it out on those and keep your factory ones in stock condition.
