Good luck man. You have my kind of luck. I would pull the engine and get another to put in its place. On that cam swap Turn the engine upside down on the engine stand to install the cam.
can you give me a quick write up on how to remove it.
LIFTERS prolly in the pan.....just get another lifter and move on ...............it would work if i was doing it but anyone else it'd prolly blow up
if it is in the pan than i was going to just go buy one but there is no way for me to tell if it is, i used magnets and lights and moving the pan around and i cant tell if it is in the pan or sitting on the tray under the crank.
try taking the tranny loose from the crossmember and jacking the back of the tranny up
I'd sure be dropping the front diff so that you have full access to lowering the oil pan. Don't half-ass the job or you'll regret it.
disconnect drive shaft and hang out of way

remove electrical connection. wires will be held onto diff in two spots, unclip those.

remove 6 bolts on each side that attach the outer axles

remove the 2 bolts holding the pass side axle tube

now you have 2 more bolts to remove. place a jack under diff to help in removal. 1 bolt is below the pinion and the other one is in front of the diff.
