Thanks guys for giving my little brother awesome advice.!!
i heard of that school from my school's counselor, i've never really looked into that one but i think i just might.
I really appreciate all you guys' input on the school if their is any more feel free to post em i am more than willing take any school into consideration
i would preffer a school where i can learn in the field of Diesel Technicians as that's what i want to do but i wouldn't mind to learn how to get more power out of a gas engine
well i went to wyotech took 6 months of auto 3 months of diesel 3 months of chassis fab and high performance engines and 3 months of business management (its actually a 2 year associates degree) and i am now a oil field mechanic i work on a lot off diff equipment but mostly cat diesel engines (3400 and 3500 series) and that 3 months of diesel is what got me the job (not to mention a very very good job for some one that was only 19 at the time). and i suggest that school to anyone who thinks they can stand the cold  i have a friend thats taking an electrical call in waco and im pretty sure its tstc and he really likes it idk what kind of diesel program they have but Diesel and electrical is where all the money is at so your goal of working in the diesel field is very good to hear
yea Diesel is my main goal but i wouldnt mind knowing how to "go fast"
Hi Gordo,
If you have any questions about the school, I would be happy to go over anything with you, that you might have in question. You can contact us at the school 713-683-3817 or you can reach me by email rob@samracing.com. Since you are in the Houston area, we have tour's going on all the time, if you would like to schedule a tour for a certain day, give us a call and we can show you everything that we have to offer here at S.A.M. From what I have read, it seems like the things you would like to do, we could accomplish here at the school. As I said, if you have any questions feel free to give me a call here at the school. Your also welcome to PM anything you might want to know as well.
Thanks guys,
-Rob
I've met with the owner a couple times and recently spoke with him at the Spring Nationals in Houston. From what I heard you've either got it or you don't...your first job out of SAM will either make you or break you so you better know your stuff. Many top mechanics in professional racing have come from SAM. Judson seems to make it in the top 10 every year with his students with at least one or two engines in the Hot Rod engine builders contest..
Diesel is freakin' awesome, learn as much as you can about it. I never thought I would see the day where I would say something like that. A friend's Cummins changed my mind though...
I'm already set up to go to Wyotech when I get out of high school. My start date is September 27th at the Laramie, Wyoming campus.
hope you have a really warm jacket, it will already be snowing when you get there the july start date is easyer to adjust imo, alot more things to do in the summer as well
