try going to MTW in santa paula? or the exhaust shop on main st across from kadenkos?
ill look into both those places thanks. i was also told a place called ss motorsports in simi valley that will do it i just cant say where i had it done if i get busted for it hahah
Cats are illegal to move. Exhaust shops can be fined a large fine. Cats are manufactured to be in that certain spot in the exhaust stream to do its job. Moving it even an inch will effect its catalytic properties.
But I say replace the cats with turbos and to h. . . . . . . wait cant say that . . . .
They are supposed to do a "visual" inspection to make sure the proper emissions control devices are in place, but where I go they don't actually look under the vehicle.
They normally don't check in Texas unless it's an emissions county, all of this inspection advice is good for texans but doesn't do much for the guy who started the thread(who is in CA). GR, I'll trade you houses man, my neighbors are all nice and take care of one another. You'll have new friends in no time.

I wouldn't go anywhere if I were in your shoes. We will definitely give you a shout when we visit our family in Oceanside. We're touring suthern California either this summer or at Christmas time so some local input would be great. SoCal is on the top of our move list, followed by south padre and Houston or Austin. We want to check out the winter months of all places since the weather is our primary reason to leave. It also depends on what Ashlei can make starting off vs. cost of living since she's the one with the education. I am well rounded so it shouldn't be hard for me to find a job, but I'm not leaving mine for a few years at least so I can save up.
Thats California for ya.
