I ended up having to spend money on some other stuff so I am holding off on the tires, when i do decide I will take some pictures of how they look and write a review. I have heard great things about the mastercrafts, let me know when you do take off roading.

sold it, the 496 drank too much gas, got the one you see., my friend scott with the old chevy says they are great offroad, he got 35x12.50x15's for less than $1000

Those you mention are pretty good "weekend" tires. I have only run Goodyear MT/R's as well as the military Goodyear's. I currently have about 35,000 miles on a set of 315's that are wearing amazingly well...just gotta keep up with tire rotations.

would you say a set of 80% goodyear MTRs, for 300 bucks is a good deal.
-
I would say that's an okay deal. I had some maxxis buckshot on my old white truck and wasn't too impressed. They were obnoxiously loud even for a mud terrain and I wasn't too impressed with traction either. My best set of m/ts I ever bought were my BFG radial mud terrain km. I had those on my 73 bronco and loved them. They were quiet and wore very well 10k on them and they still looked new. I put 20k on the maxxis and they were ready to be replaced.

Hey, I gotta 73' bronco!
What size tires for the $300 deal?

I wish I had never sold mine, even though it tried to kill me thrice.

Retreads are OK for slo-motion on back trails but I've seen a couple blow up when a dude had his jeep pinned WOT in a mud hole....both back tires had tread separation. However, he's had the remaining two on a trailer for quite some time and they still work fine.

I just heard about these tires. One guy in the FD says the are the best tires you could ever use. The actual buckshot mudders. He says best tire sold in East Texas. He claims he use to sell tires.
