I have the vette servo and HD2, it is perfect for me. It took about 5 hours to do for me too, If you have ever done a shift kit it is easy to do, just take your time and enjoy.:)

What level or how many spacers you use? Don't want it too hard since fam rides in it still.
I wouldn't do any spacers. I have done kits with 2, 1, and no spacers. 2 spacers is waaaaaaaaay too much, 1 spacer is definitely a kick in the pants for a 1-2 shift, and I think no spacers is just right for firmness of the shift.
You know, I was just thinking about the original question. I'm pretty sure there is a hole on the sep plate whose size determines how quickly and how aggressively the trans engages forward and reverse.
If you can locate it next time you change the filter just drop the VB and enlarge it slightly.
My 1-2 accumulator has no spacers in and the accumulator piston is ground down to have a longer travel to give an even softer shift. Part throttle feels a lot quicker than stock but not much firmer and WOT barks the tires into 2nd. The more the throttle the harder the shift. I have the corvette servo aswell. Also, mine shifts into reverse slowly but I took the low reverse check ball out and I did not chamfer the shift valve like the kit said to do.
