In all honesty I will never again let Comp select a cam for an engine. They like to sell off the shelf cams and most times you will be leaving tons of power on the table using their recommendation. Contact PatrickG on LS1Tech or NelsonPerformance for recommendations. Don't be cheap, if you go to PatrickG and he wants $20 for his knowledge, pay it, you won't be let down.
I have the Texas Speed and Performance version of this one which is the 228R. I guess its the same thing. Running it with a Yank SST 3200. I have not put it on the dyno since the cam swap.Quote:

A custom grind cam is where the cam is made to better suit your needs. Pat on LS1tech or Allen at Nelson can have a cam made specific for your application. IF you going with a 3k stall the 228R cam will not start making power soon enough. Something along the lines of the TR220 is more suited to your application.
