I wouldn't be against trying it in 10 years after they've done all the comparisons and such. I wouldn't toss just ANY oil into a tight tolerance motor like an LS though. Maybe in an old 350...

Price will make a huge difference in if people will buy it. How much does it run?

I have not seen one quart of this "eco" oil around the Austin area. Any chance you know the name of the oil?
I have used what is called "green" hydraulic oil in some ROV's in the past. But it was crap and would eat up seals and insulation on wires in J-boxes. CRAP. But maybe that just the oilfield trash looking out for my job coming out of me.
That's because most of the population in austin claim 'liberal' status not all, but most. I don't have a problem with it. but there is plenty of oil in the U.S. if they'd stop saving it for later they could use it
It is not a bad idea to start looking into getting eco-oil out there so that reliability can be proven. Too many people are skeptical about running recycled oil.
If it is cheaper than baseline conventional oil, then I'd run it...in the Honda! I would never run recycled oil in a high performance motor. UNLESS reliability reports prove so otherwise.
Uhhh. You could go to a gas station and get some of that badass oil.
this is from a company called universal lubricants. It is 1.00 less a quart than our bulk oil before mark up, which doesnt sound like much but some of our volvos take 8 quarts, and volvo customers count pennies lol. Our local honda dealership was the first to start selling this oil 4 months ago, and their oil change sales have increased. And so far they havent had any foul ups, or spun bearings. Now granted hondas arent high performance engines, but they run on 5w20 and 0w20, those are pretty tight tolerence engines. Now does this mean I am going to run out and run it in my truck, no, but i may after i see some results after long term use
