The bigger cam will move the torque curve up. You wont make as much power at cruising speed, so you'll need more throttle to maintain speed at a cruise. so you'll use more fuel.

ok that comment i dont fully understand
hahahahahahha yea lets make fun of the little guy, i understand that part, i was refering to not understanding why the bigger cam that creates more power would need more fuel at a cruising speed. it has better power to weight, which im guessing the bigger cam requires more fuel to air mixtures???
lol yea i know, ahhh now that i think about it, it makes sense...well more than it did anyways haha
mpg is mainly determined by control of right foot and the tune.
i had a 6 litre with a 232/234 cam and got 18mpg with ac on for highway with a 3800 stall
my 6.7 with a 244/248 cam got 16 mpg on highway
the 4.8 setup with 230/236 cam got 19mpg with ac on for highway
my region of living isnt flat like the south.
I wasn't trying to be a jerk. I know and understand only one thing about cams. The bigger the cam the worse mileage you will get. Oh wait I know one more thing. I need a bigger cam.
