It seems that every truck out here that does the "Baja" or CORR style out here is just that Mitch. Nothing but crappy fiberglass thrown on a even crappier lift. If you're gonna do it do it right and make it fun.

Like Mark said it's gonna cost ya som MAJOR coin. $6k in just front suspension may even be a little low...plus the glass. Plus the rear suspension. It's not cheap... IMO I would just put a 3 or 6" suspension lift on it and bigger tires and call it good. You're getting what you want to do out of it and not dropping ridiculous amounts of money to have a truck that will be used for what it was built for maybe once a year you know?

exactly why i said that... i hate all the ''poser'' trucks out there that just look like theyre a real baja truck but arent. a few of my friends back home had trucks like that and i always gave them hell about it!! :lol:

I have the same problem where I live. Most of my friends have 4wds and I got alot of dirt roads and mudholes around here and we go the river and stuff like that so I just take mine ive got stuck in sand like once but besides that its been alright. That is alot of money to spend to not even to have 4wd and thats the main thing you probally need and its no telling how much that conversion would costs!

did you know CORR racing is no longer? i heard it basicly went out of buisness and its owned by some other company that host the races

Well guys where im at it is all backwoods country boys that dont even really know what trophy trucks are, and Im not gonna do the long trsvel just yet.. Just because I like the looks of something that makes me a poser???... Its not like im gonna be goin around tellin people I drive 2 days and go to cali and race it on the weekends.. I like the lifted look but want somthin that will make it stand out, if yall have any other ways of doin so let me know!
Oh and for the prices
Fenders and bedsides= $900
lift= $450 ( eventually if I do the long travel = $1800 from camburg)
rims and tires= Im just gonna guess around $1500

long travel suspension will cost you out the a$$ bro. companies like camburg, fabtech, procomp, CST, and a few other all make good 2wd lift kits. deaver leafs in the rear or alcan will set you back at lease $500 for the pair. then factor in tires and wheels..... then you wonder why people dedicated to performance drop there stuff?? cause its cheaper by thousands. oh and when you put 35s on it and use it don't be suprised when your replacing hubs every whip stitch. but hey do you bro! whatever makes ya happy. a forum called gmfullsize has a GREAT offroad section. join it and learn. don't ask too many noob questions there or they will hate on you hardcore. but they are every informative.

Oh no doubt bro I know what u mean about the performance, which is why im doin this cuz my 4.8 will NEVER be fast and if I do this i dont think the erge will be there as much cuz I think it look soooo good I wont be worried bout goin fast... And when I do get the itch I can get in my dads RCSB 6.0 w/ heads cam and stall....

your not going to like that big tire and big stall combo, it will drive around town horrible.

I would do the bumper, tire and lift first and hold off on the fenders.

Big open flared fenders with factory components sticking out
underneath will look lame I think.

Half of the "cool look" of those flared fenders is seeing all
hvy duty A-arms and springs and stuff under there.

I looked into those fenders at one point. They get glued onto the factory fenders after some cutting.

As far as 2wd lifts... I MIGHT be the expert here. CST kits are notorious for snapping ball joints...avoid it. The ebay kit I've heard of one or 2 snapping spindle housing. Fabtech is the way to go IMO. The 4" will put you at stock 4x4 height. The 7" (what I have) will put you about even with a 4x4 with a level OR body kit. With just my lift, i had to really adjust my bumper to clear my 35's. (re drilled holes) but if you're getting new bumper you should be fine.

My truck articulates better then most 4x4 kits, so the "long travel" is really un-necessary. But even with a 3.73 this thing is a dog. My old tires, I never really got stuck, with these I did REALLY easy. So that plays a good part in the equation, but it's still 2wd, you can't do MUCH without expensive locker/gear/tire combo.

I've worn out 1 tie rod, 1 hub assembly since truck was new. lifted it at 110k, and the tie-rod/hub assembly started going out at about 125k, I'm at 146k and everything is tight, so don't let that play TOO much into your list of worries.

As far as price:

Any decent tire, you're looking at 180-300 a piece.
I believe 7" fabtech lift is $1400
Add on your fiberglass, and metal for bumpers

Prolly 3500 all painted/installed (doing it yourself)

I LOVE my truck, and it gets more attention then any 4wd in the area, but I can't even keep up mod'd civics and I get about 9mpg.
