soak soak soak it then in penetrant then try breaking it all loose again
you can always take an air chisel and drive the locating pins out of the block and into the transmission bell housing. I just noticed you're up there in MN where they destroy cars with road salts. Your best bet is to hit all bolts with penetrant for a while before attempting to remove. Whack them a couple times with a hammer to break the corrosion loose. Good luck with your disassembly. :)
becareful cause you can destroy your bellhousing very fast if doing it wrong. i would soak it if possible. the aluminum and the metal dowel dont mess well. if you have a bensomatic torch that would help also but make sure there isnt any residue from soaking it or youll have a crispy truck
ASk Chick about this one. He forgot the very bottom bolt in his NV3500 and he was prying on that bitty forever til I saw it.
When you put it back together put antiseize on the face of the bellhousing and around the dowel pins so you never have this problem again.
He just did a search for NV3500. Did the same thing on pt.net. A bunch of 5 speed threads came to the surface.
