Well if you're planning to do the install yourself you may want to rethink it. It's not a hard install. I've personally had everything torn down before(never done an actual gear swap though). The problem lies in that you have to have a dial indicator and other fairly expensive tools to check the tolerances. The most important one being backlash. You're dealing with a .005-.010(the exact numbers escape me) or so in precision. If you go outside that window your gears are going to make tons of noise or potentially break ring teeth over time.
In short, if you only plan to do the install once you may want to take it to someone that already has the tools. For the $200 or so in labor they will charge you it would be cheaper than buying all the tolerance checking tools.
