Impala fans run about $100 @ collision parts centers and you can get the wiring kit @ Auto Zone for about $30. That was the last bolt on I did and yes it still pulled harder.

I got a set of z28 fans (LT1, and LS1 used same fans) out of bone yard with harness for ~100. I just used 2 relays to power them, which are switched whenever my radio is on (aka, when key is on) I put a kill switch inline so I can turn them off when I want. I honestly didn't run the fans at all over winter, and in summer only if stopped in traffic. Above 40 mph, i just shut them off.
Noticed a small gain in both gas mileage and power. Not much, but they cool A LOT better then factory. And I hated being under the hood with engine running before. Great for cooling truck when it is off (just watch battery gauge.)
I know a lot of people who just have them run whenever car is on, and never shut them off. Work fine. If motors EVER blow out, Auto zone has replacements with lifetime warranty for like 50 bucks.

You will not tell the difference at all unless you have a small motor with no mods at all. I sold some Impala fans to another member that hopefully will work great for his application. Wasn't aware there was a full "wiring kit" at a box store for $30. Mine is a worst case scenario as I do have the big radiator but don't want a hacked up deal with wire nuts :lol: (you know who you are).

Its worth 15+HP on a stock 5.3 depending on the clutch fans engagement. Pulled our test truck with a clutch fan several time each time the power went a little more a little more. With electric fans no load more power. WE hooked mine to turn on when the key is on.
