I hope so, go a number in my head I want to get to. I am use to the feel of a (1) 62 on a 5.3 or my old 6.0L I was a little worried about spool up with (2)70's or 76's but I figure with .68 a/r's that should be covered. If spool is still off the intake will have set of spray bars already installed waiting for some nitrous.
No more progess pics right now I will get some more posted up this week.
I am suppose to get the mock up block and junk heads to start working on the intake this week, hopefully by the end.
Looks good.
Nice:thumb: im guessing those are the 1/2 in head studs?
We went 9/16's/..
Keeping with the budget theme here :) I went with dual 70's .68 a/r. and 2) 38mm waste gates. Exhaust Manifolds are finsihed and the turbos locations are set.
Now how much HP can 2.5 in DP handle.? 3.0" is getting really tight on the drivers side. I know we have gotten 700+ hp from one 3" dp and two 2.5 is equal to 1) 3.5" pipe.
So what you think go with 2.5 DP and keep the packaging small.? I could always build them larger in the future if I had to. :)
Here a couple of pics of the mock up turbo mounted up.
what would happen if you put two different sized turbos on there, one for low to mid RPM boost and the other for high boost?
I think one turbo would be working against the other and the back pressures would be different from one side of the engine to the other. These turbos should spool really quick, and still give good hi boost numbers. IF the AR is too small and kills top end power they will be swapped out.
Deisels use a varibale vein type turbo but that is only on a single.
Yeah, I have a powerjoke 6L turbo on my shelf, took it apart to see how it works, damn thing is like new. I like the idea of the variable veins but it would need some kind of controller for it on a gas engine.
2 diff sizes sounds like a cool experiement for the fun of it, how long could it take if you had one laying around?
