Well i dont know of any tuners local to me and in my lil town people dont know a whole lot about these newer style engines! If it dont have a carb there lost! Just going with the best option i have avalible right now. Anyway blue z your on thirdgen.org arent ya? Ive always thought that car was damn nice!
Ya I've been on thirdgen.org for like 4 yrs or something. Thanks :) I'm gonna miss driving it, but the down time with the swap will be worth it.
It can be anything but may not be 3-4 clutches if 4th is OK. 3-4 clutch failures are common.
My guess for the OP with stall, tune, SK, servos, and weight reduction is 9.79 in the 8th in good air.
Yeah ill prob end up going with the hd-2 since thats what most have recomended. I figured about 9.9-10.0 with out stall so your guess is about on with mine. Ive been on thirdgen for about 4-5yrs also bluez! Plan on a lsx swap on my 86 ta someday for now it just sits :( on a good note my 82 is getting a hot lil 383 with brodix heads forged rods and pistons solid cam ect.. :)
Nice, that should be a good setup. The LSX swap would be awesome in your T/A also. I have been wanting to do an LS1 swap for a very long time, actually ever since I got the car back in 2003. I finally figured that it would be cheaper to get a truck block 6.0 and go that route, and it will end up making more power anyways haha
yeah ive had my 86 since 04 and always wanted a lsx swap especialy since it had a 200k+mile lg4 with 2.73's lol i started on it got all interior out and body stripped for paint and engine bay cleaned and sleared of clutter but thats as far as i got. bought the 82 to have another driver 3rdgen and well it needs no body and interior work so it gets to go fast first. shooting for low 11's in 1/4 with it. Ive got no 1/4 tracks near me so thats part of the reason i want to mod the yukon some to ease towing a car all over the place. i may end up going with a 4l60e or a 4l80e in the 86 instead of a t56 like i originaly wanted that would ease the swap to go auto again.
