agree 100% but its get rid of the right stuff hummer and saturn were a good start i think but if they are forced to make the volt it will not sell and i know they dont want them to make suburbans and trucks but thats what Americans need and if the dont make them by by gm
i think everyone agrees they need to restructure in order to survive...but i dont think the gov should be telling gm what and who they get rid of...this isnt the USSR
that blows, really wanted to see what that 4.5 would do in a rcsb
Didn't I hear or read GM had to drop Nascar sponsorship also?
I completely agree...except for the part where US taxpayer dollars are floating them right now. Because of that is the reason the gov't gets to make stipulations.
Healthcare and Unions are what is killing GM. Those are crazy contracts & costs they have to pay right now. If they don't restructure or eliminate them, no amount of money will help. They simply are spending more than they bring in.
Just a matter of time IMO.
That just drives me bonkers. Honestly, the government shouldn't be giving them any money and sure should not be telling them what to. I feel for anyone who works for these companies and might loose a job, but it happens. If GM wants to stick around they should just buckle down and start making good vehicles again.
Car and Driver played a horrible April Fools joke and stated that Obama forced GM and Dodge out of NASCAR to save money. I chuckled a little
Saturn is the only brand owned by GM that has not seen a decrease in sales (maybe in 08, not sure). My wife had an ion and it gave us no problems but we traded it in for the Vue in my sig. I love it. It has lots of power. If anything, Hummer is more worthless. One of the biggest under powered gas wasters on the road.
Big mistake on GM's part. At this point the GM I knew and was fond of is dead... Soon, they'll be a Toyota clone.
