eh over rated. ppl slip on words and then we get a PM. Mods should worry more about other things then language
other things like?
Whats the big deal I have not seen any kids trolling the site...O well looks like tha man is here watching us all. Watch out for black helicopters
i believe its a public forum, and people cuss in public. are you gonna ban them from sitting out front of a resturant or something? not arguing just debating one of the many things were free to do in this country
Me personally. I think this is one of the best forums I have ever been on. The trolls get weeded out really quickly, and everyone has always been so close. I just didn't see the need in the langauge "clause" of the rules. Thats why there are filters, to filter out the bad words. I know that one night on the live chat it got out of handed, but that situation, is different then one saying the S word, or B word, out of the blue. I guess just trying to change the way someone talks on the forum is going a little over board I guess. Other then the one situation on live chat, this site has always maintained its somewhat squeaky clean image. Can't control everything.
I think the idea is to try and keep it a clean site that's not flooded with foul language. Yes, it is a free country and you can use profanity when/where ever you want. Would it kill you to use an alternate word instead? I see it both ways and understand the high standard that this site was based on is what the mods are trying to keep.:twocents:
Any time you think its a free country to cuss, swear or say anything you want, try it in a church or a court room. Do it in public in front of children. Try cussing a lot in public in Texas, if someone complains you'll be in court faster than you can shake the dew off your lilly. There are public decency laws. I don't want a fowl mouthed person speaking like that around any of my children or around my mother. My children may hear it every day in school but they don't hear it at home if I have anything to do with it. A lot of children read these posts over their parents shoulders, wives/significant others do to. I like seeing people that can communicate well without having to lower themselves to swearing, it shows respect and an intelligence level that I believe we will be proud to have outsiders recognize when they visit our site.
