I've been running a windows 7 beta since january. When the 7000 build, and I like it. Even better than vista, and I actually liked that version.
I had no idea as to what is going with the gov and microsoft. Strange.
But when this beta runs out, and when the rc1 runs our.. I will most likely be going back to xp, its what I run on my desktop.
Most of the issues with vista thought, will probably be in win7 too. Big service pack is possibly what it is, but look at what win2k to xp was.. major service pack. win2k and xp looked different, didn't really perform faster, or really anymore stable than win2k. So xp ---> vista = huge change, creates lots of issures, vista ---> win7 = well not so many issues, and faster.
That is the main thing I notice between the two (vista and win7) is its faster! Same exact system used with both the version, and a real noticeable difference in speed.
But they screwed lots of people out of money for vista, and now 2 years later going to screw lots more people on an upgrade, or being left with something not supported much. For something that vista should have been from the start.
Yep , Windows 7 is just Vista Service Pack that you will have to pay for the Service Pack this time .
Also have 7 beta version , crashes more than Windows ME did .
I'll stick to the Lizard (SuSE Linux) thank you very much , would love to have MAC (Unix) , glad to see people are waking up about Micro$oft .
XP or Suse FTW!!!!!
Macs fail they are the over priced toyotas of the computer world...
I dunno what build my friend is on now with his Win7 but its been running smoothly for the past couple of months with no down time or program restraints (1 reported crash...). Im quite pleased with its performance vs Vista, Ive already noticed it has WAY less background resources at boot up vs Vista. Since I still game W1nd0wz still has its way with me, I mean come on what games can you play on a mac besides Photoshop and WoW?
 true. I've tried mac.. it was mac on a pc, but I just didn't like the way the interface was. Might be because windows is all I've used..
I see the way less crap in win7. I'm running a core-duo, 2 gigs ram, and gma950 video. Takes it like a champ. I want to get win7 going on my gaming rig, its less of a computer processor wise, but still quick, it handled vista rc1 pretty nicely.
When and if EFILive ever releases a Linux version , it's goodbye MS for me .
Ever play a MS game on Linux ? They are twice the detail and speed of the MS bogged down DirectX junk .
Remember , Bill G. and Steve J. both went to Palo Alto California and saw the first GUI Windows done by Xerox , I said IBM but in fact it was Xerox .
But MAC was first .
Here is a good read ; History of the graphical user interface - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
My dad worked for IBM for 24 years.....
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand?
