The 224 was not HUGE for your truck. When people see those specs on a cam, they immediately freak out because they don't know! Your cam specs all depend on your supporting mods and how you want your power. The TR220 will be fine in your truck. Since you are doing some work to your heads and you have LTs, I would have gone with a custom grind close to a 224XE on a 112 LSA from Texas Speed.
But yeah, having the heads cleaned up with a 3-angle valve job will be beneficial. :thumb:
