This must be the 4wd pacesetter dilemna everyones talking about. Remember those headers I bought from you SCIV? The former owner beat on them to get them to clear something on his 4x4 and had to get it re-welded. It must be for certain year models that the headers will have problems
i had that prob...i had originally bout pacesetters for my truck and they wouldnt clear the driverside where the driveshaft bolts into the front diff...i heat and beat them but still wouldnt work so i sold them for cheap cheap and got me some good headers...my stainless works fit perfect!
I never installed them, I feel bad lol. I sold them to a friend what I payed for them and he installed them on his 2wd and they worked perfect. Cause I eventually want turbo and cant use them with it :p. I wish I could have installed them though to find out why the guy beat them in and help with the latest pacesetter install dilemnas.
Man if a steering linkage problem makes the input shaft rub you have serious frame problems. Matt is right.
just hit it with a hammer, its the best tool to make pacesetters fit. seriously.
Who is Matt?
It seems that a few people have had this problem, it only does it on one spot.
I am going to sand down the shaft a little and give the header a dead blow smack or two.
The guy that previously stated that worn steering parts won't make the input shaft rub a header.
