Pic request: Mounted DBW throttle in an 88-98

Whats your pedal out off? mine looks alot different.

Couldn't you just use an OBS DBW diesel pedal, splice some wires and tune the new PCM to recognize the OBS pedal Ohm range?

Why won't this work? There is a write up on the Street & Performance website where someone used a 98 6.5 diesel pedal for 8.1 swap into a 88 1 ton. Swapped some pins around and bent the pedal a little and it worked. I was hoping I could do this w/ my swap.

Try it. Maybe they can give you the rewiring instructions. That would be neat if it works. 99% of the time you have to have the correct pedal assembly for the DBW control box.

Sorry for the delay, my pedal I believe is out of a 2003 ecsb 2500hd, but I'm not positive. I just went to the local junkyard and found a truck with a DBW pedal and stripped it out.

There are two sensors in the pedal that are redundant. They have different voltage operating ranges as a fail safe. For it to work, the resistance of both sensors must be exactly the same as the DBW system you're using ALL THE WAY FROM 0 TO 100% THROTTLE. This is unlikey. An 8100 doesn't use nearly the same DBW system as an LS engine.


BTW, the 6.5 diesel pedals were very failure prone in their day.

I have a DBW pedal just like yours hooked up to my 1993 and it works awesome. I used one of the holes that the old pedal came out of and just ran a cutting screw through the other mounting hole and it holds great. I'll get you a picture tonight or tomorrow and post it back up.

Also, I finally figured out how to make the cruise work yesterday and now all of the things are buttoned up on my truck to give it all full functionality.

I'm going to do a write up shortly on how to make the DBW cruise work in an OBS too, so let me know if you need some help with that.

i took mine and bolted it to the fire wall and then cut it and rewelded it works great sorry no pic of it to put on here pm me and i can text u a pic of it
