From what I remember, the only reason that Parish changed was because he bought a 4L80E and transfer case together to avoid doing the input gear swap on the transfer case.

Input gear swap? There were 4L80's with the NP8 transfer case too.
Who is this Parish guy? Is it the blue short short that was featured in magazines...the one that pulled a trailer with equipment for one of those :ghey: magazine challenges? If so, it was coooooool. I remember it being a 6.0 turbo 4X4 that started as a 4.8....and the trans was swapped for an 80. Is this the one? I remember the mag saying he launched 4HI then switched to 2HI....if so it's the 1st time I've heard that working well on something FAST. I thought it has some juice too....
Gotta go dig through my pile of mags (only about 1300 of them) just in case I'm guessing wrong...
Thanks.
2500 transfer case is vague. There are T/C's that were installed in various "size" trucks that are the same inside.
Anyone know I'm talking about then?
Thanks. I'm more wondering if anyone knows the person I'm talking about....at least now.
who is this parish guy?:)
i ran a 2500hd manual shift tcase. not sure of the exact part number. it was rated at 5500 ft/lbs where the 1500 cases and the autotrack case that they put in the 2500's were rated at 2500ft/lbs.
i got that t case with the engine and tranny for cheap so i just ran it all. if i were to do it today i would do the input gear swap and see how long the autotrack unit lasts.
hey! i bet i have the record for longest member with fewest posts:)
Thanks for the reply. Wonder who the guy is I'm talking about...?
Well at least someone answered my question.
