Yes I have had to replace it before. I just dropped the tank. (I had a full tank, but I also had two guys helping me and a floor jack)
I am not bothered by leaving it alone, I was just seeing how common it was and what may have caused it so I could evaluate weather to fix it or not.

No prob man. Yeah, if it is fluttering only--then leave it. But if it goes dead for a while or ends up leaving you stranded from running out of gas--time to get nasty and replace a bunch of stuff...
