Welcome to LS1truck! We have been getting a lot of you guys lately...and when I say "you guys," I am talking about the OBS to LS swap guys. People are finally realizing the LS motors are the ones to have!
Zeake--he is talking about swapping the tired 5.7L to a 5.3L.

Zeake- How much for the 5.3? Is it drive by wire? How many miles? Where you located? The one I have found is 120 miles from me.
I am in 30241 and I'd take 400 for the motor. I have a drive by wire throttle body. You'd need an intake the one I have is damaged. The 5.3 is the original out of my truck and has about 100k on it. Ran great never used oil. Also has 2 drivers valve covers so you'd need the one with the filler cap. I can take pics if youd like.
Almost forgot has a bolt in the head that needs repairing. Drivers back side header bolt was broken when I got it and I never could get it out. It is failry boogered but with factory manifolds it never leaked. I never tried long tubes because of the bolt and the bolt was my reason to go 6.0.
I went through Ringgold yesterday coming back from Pigeon Forge with the wife. FSC is having a GTG sat. oct 25 at Discovery Mills mall around 2:00 pm in front of the Bass Pro Shop if anyone wants to attend. Here is a link
