ya i want to do everything right the first time... cuz i dont want much down time.. lol
The shifter lever is shorter on the f-body trans so you can't install the trans switch. I tried that already.
Thats interesting to know, I've installed two different LS1 transmissions in my trucks but never a truck transmission. Then project truck I'm working on now may give me fits because of the rod length but its nothing I can't modify to fit with the hot wrench. :thumb:
+1 on getting a truck harness and swapping injector plugs, the big question about the v6 - v8 swaps on the 03 up trucks is the drive by wire tb, i assume you can just leave it un-plugged, because you are gonna want to use the drive by cable tb like you have now on the v6, so you might be better off getting a harness for a 99-02 truck....good luck on the swap, its worth all the work, v6 - v8 will make you :)
I don't think you can use a DBW harness on a cable driven type engine because idle air control wiring isnt there.
Let's not use stupid terms for proven parts that work well. Secondly, there are three generations of DBW, that's why I try to ask so many questions about application before responding....even when I'm wrong. The earliest (2000-2001?) DBW systems have a mechanical IAC independent of the TB as well as an external TPS. Only the throttle blade is controlled by the motor on these and they use similar IAC and TPS parts to the same year DBC throttle bodies. The next Gen is like what I have....two TPS built into the T/B itself and no IAC. 3rd Gen mates to the newer style 4-bolt intake.
true...the green and red plugs will not interchange,...the blues however will for whatever reason
He already has the 2002 PCM for the LS1 to go with the DBC wiring harness. I'm sure he wants to continue using DBC, I know I would. I'm not sure on the emissions inspection if you can simply change the VIN in the 02 PCM to match the VIN on the truck to make it legal.
