OK...I'm getting a little frustrated here trying to locate some tires that will work for the truck.
Stipulations are as follows:
I need something I can run year round. I need something that gives good traction.
I would like something as close to $200 as possible (or lower of course). I would like something wider on the back than the front.
I've looked for some of the sizes posted (305/50's blah blah blah) and the only tire I can find that will work that is listed on the sites is 285/55/18.
I've looked on Tirerack, Discount Tire, and Summit.
So are 305's, 295's, 285's just not listed? Not available? I've spent a ton of time looking around trying to figure out what will work. It hasn't been too productive.
So far I've come up with:
Cooper Zeon XST $182 at Discount Tire (assume no shipping)
Cooper Zeon XST $169 at Summit (plus shipping)
Pirrelli Scorpion Zero $210 Tire Rack (plus shipping)
This appears to be my best bet:
Summit has some 275/60/18 Nitto 404's (to run on back) and 285/50/18 Nitto 404's I could run on the front (a little shorter and narrower than the backs)for $150 which would work and the price is right.

My bad Moze, didn't pick up on the fact you were running 18's. My info was based off 20's.
285/55 is the same size I ran on my 18's.
Look at the Mickey Thompson Sportsman SR, they come awful wide!

Winter down here doesn't get that bad. There are more nice days than not. If they get dirty, they'll get sprayed off.

My dad's runnin 305/55/18 out back, 255/55/18 up front, Nitto 404's

Not sure the 305's would work as low as mine sits. Do they tuck?
-
Well it's a 1967 so it's hard to compare to yours. Look at my profile pic. Thats it

Ohh ok. I'd like to try 305's but 1.) would need to find soem and 2.) hope they fit.
