My 05' silverado had a manual 4wd shifter. It was the base model with the 4.8. Find one of these and you don't have to piss around with wiring and sensors.
Wouldnt that have the driver side drop though? I need a passenger side drop.
Sorry, didn't see that part.
We tried to a Dakota Digital box on the last truck and it wouldnt work. We were told by Dakota Digital that no company makes a converter box to multiply the 4 pulse to a 40 pulse signal.
Here is what I would do (because as far as I can tell the sensor adapter we used in the 1997 5.7 4L60e wont work in the 1999 5.3 4L60e) is to buy a obs 4L60e and adapt it to the engine then drill and tap the speed sensor from Jags That Run. Or scrap the 4L60e all together and run the 700R4, but I think that you would be happier with the 4L60e in the long run.
Oh yeah, here is the one that we used and it turned out great for the 1997 Vortec 5.7, 4L60e, and NP208 transfer case into a K5 Blazer.
V-8 Vehicle Speed Sensors, 4L60-E Reluctor Ring, V8 Conversions, Stealth Conversions
Hope this helps some.
Thanks muddyjimmy i might try that one
I would call or email BakerElectronix and tell him what your needs are. He builds and designs all the items he sells and writes the programming. He can probably build you what you need and if there is any market for them he will put them on his website for sale afterwards. :thumb:
anyone swapped the 4l80e in?
Im wanting to do a 6.0l swap in my 91 4x4, I have swapped a th350 in for now but not sure how all that would work with the 6.0l swap.
Hey whats up guys? I'm new to to this forum and I've been reading alot of great stuff on here, my new favorite home lol Anyway, my dad and I are putting a 6.0L LQ4 and 4L80E out of a 2000 Silverado 2500HD 3/4 ton in my 1984 GMC Sierra Classic 3/4 ton. I'm finding I have that same problem, transmission won't shift at all past about 45 MPH. I've found out I HAVE to do the dual speed sensor setup to get the right pulse output. I got one of those pulse generators that screw onto the back of the speedo, only a 4 pulse. Only thing I can see working on my setup. BUT when I bought the engine and transmission, for some reason the guy I bought it from (off Craigslist) included the original NP241 transfer case with it, so I'm gonna try and use the reluctor ring and speed sensors off that to make my 4L80E work. So, anyone wanna buy a NP241 t-case??? hahaha
