I agree. If you are not local to a good tuner then a mail order tune is the way to go. If you live fairly close a street tune will be alot better than the mail order, plus the tuner would probly spot any problems with the vehicle if they exist.

I dont see how the cost of a tune would suggest quality of...
if we were discussing parts, well then thats usually the case...
but in this scenario, your basically paying for someones knowledge...
everyone around here talks about a nelson tune like they are talking about some hot blonde that rubs up against them at the local convenient store, bout the weirdest thing Ive read in a while. :D
Whomever you decide to go with, it would seem to be more ideal, if at all possible, to take your truck to a shop and have it programmed while your there. At least then youll have what seems to be dyno proof of the modifications made.
whether its his site or they are his customers, whether the "tune" makes gains or not, is irrelevant.
listen Socrates, I dont really know what your getting at saying thats irrelevant, but there are some simple reasons as to why people talk to highly of nelson. I mean its pretty cut and dry.. This is his site he started with his customers. We are his happy customers. We have used other products but his was the best. This is where we conjugate to persuade people to use his tunes because he does a wonderful job at tuning... whats so irrelevant about that? That is why we back nelson, that is why we are on this site.. other people use HP, EFI LIVE, the valley guys have there tunes, and they come on this board, but they know that nelson does good work so thats why people swear by it..
just remember you get what you pay for!!!!
Damn David--you get beat by another white Kenyan again? Why you all pissy?
Go call the G/F to come over and get you some NAFTA.
damn let me throw this out there, i had a wait4me tune about 2 years ago and it wasnt that great, i had to retune it myself with hptuners so i could keep it running, Nelson does a good job he is just safe with a mail order tune, live tuning is always way better so you can see what the motor will take and like, hell its easy to get a ballpark on the tune but you cant fully tune until you have a WB on it and a scanner to see whats all going on
