Oh, I am not doubting you at all Quik. I just wanted to include the link where I got my info from. And considering it was from LS1Tech, I thought it was reliable...
Ricky--I thought the dealer said it was only 03 that were different...as in different head bolt sizes for the 03 and 04 and up had the same head bolt size... same as the 5.3L and 4.8L...
Thanks for the help guys. It has 317 heads and I'm going to boroscope the cylinders to see how it looks in there. Also the engine has no EGR so it has to be newer than '04 right?
Yeah, a boroscope will let you look in there and see your piston heads. Or, like I said previously, it would be a good idea to break that motor down to clean and inspect it---and then once the heads are off look at the piston heads then. I am serious man, the intake and combustion chambers will be pretty dirty and gummed up from the oil vapor recirculation system.
I think the EGR was stopped on the 02 models. The 2003-2007 Classic did not have EGR. Can someone confirm this?
Tyler, who knows I forget by now. I have new things on my mind  :burnrub:
You left that completely open for me to rip you a new one, but since we have so many whiny bitches, I am going to refrain from making some 100% hilarious comments...
Everything i found says 02 and older tyler so you're probably right.
