I would say the swap is very easy after doing three of them. If you get the wiring harness converted that makes it easier.
By converted you mean..?
The wires need identified as to where to hook them up and fuses will be added to the power circuits. I'm not sure what all NelsonPerformance does when they convert a harness but it makes it very easy to add the wiring to the existing harness.
Ya i was thinkin they did it..its the electrical and comp stuff that gets me! What all do you need just as far as the wiring and computer stuff goes?
just tie the right wires together and get fuel to the fuel rail at the correct pressure. Read the LS1 to OBS conversion topic a few times and see if you think you can pull off the swap. Grab your local buddies, a few cases of beer and have a weekend thrash for the big stuff. The small stuff will eat up your time for a week of evenings tieing up the loose ends.
so basically once you get the engine and tranny in then its mainly just about fuel system and a bunch of wires?
yep
if I were to use the plug and play harness from Nelson would i just do away with my factory computer?
yeah, you could but there is no reason to remove it, just cut the wires that aren't being used.
