Dale im serious about the insurance upgrade, and if you do that i would go for it!!! because that would be alot of money and time you can never get back.:( Because I personally wouldn't let me son use my truck!!!!!!
But its your truck and choice, if you honestly can say I trust him, Then go for it!!!!!!!!!

drove my dads truck to prom last year. felt like a million bucks! date thought so too! So i say go for it!
ok i vote yes.....
but yes he should also clean it
and yes it will prolly come back with "peter tracks" all over it....
Let him take you for a drive in it and tell him to hammer it a couple of times , then tell him "Now that that's out your system don't do it when you use it for the Prom" and at least you can judge if he does nail it , if he will be able to handle it or not .
Just let everyone around know if he does get to take it so they can at least stay of the road that night .
If you trust I say let him take it how it is, hes either going to respect it or not. If you set the rev limiter to 3500 what if he needs to get out into traffic or avoid a collision and puts his foot to the floor and theres nothing there. That would suck. If you trust him enough to drive it you trust him period. Kids are going to be kids just let him know if he screws up his ass is grass.
Do you have a backup vehicle "just in case"? This time of year is your busiest time with work, what would you do should something happen to the truck? My insurance won't cover anyone under 25 driving the thing so be sure he has full coverage insurance and that its current before you let him drive your truck.
