right on fellas! thanks! yah, im on oahu, i just picked up this truck... it was built on kauai... but it only has a 305....so looking to put a lt1 that i found, or a ls1. by the way, does anyone know what trans this came with stock?
I think it came wit the 700R4 if its the automatic though not fully sure. Isnt there salvage yards out there by pearl harbor? I think you would be way better off tryin to score a LS1 vs rebuilding the LT1, just keep the 305 till you run across one.

welcome to the site man thats cool your getting the motor for free you should sell it and get a gen III though or an ls1 like you said like greg said those lt1s are so 1990s hahahah
right on fellas!! thanks for all your help! the next thing im going to try to do is replace the tps, and flush the trans out...
so an update, did the spark plugs, helped a little. Did the trans oil, made a difference, tapped a hammer on the tps and the fault went away! Changing that tomorrow! Thanks for all your aloha!
