'86 C-30 6.0 LQ-4 Swap question

It lives...started this thing yesterday. So far am extremely leased with this swap.

OK...first off I want to thank everyone who helped with ideas. It made this a lot less painful.

I have one more question though.

I'm sure some of you guys run the factory dual tanks on these models for your swaps.

I have installed 2 EP 381's (1 in each tank), (I used a factory 1987 tank switcher valve) when I fired it up I didn't have enough pressure...about half of what it is supose to have, 32lbs.

I byassed the switcher valve and I have the full 62lbs like I should have.

My questions are...do I have a bad valve???

Or...are you guys using a different way to switch your tanks??

I've searched alot...but haven't ran across anything on this.

Maybe these valves were only made to support the lower pressure TBI system.

My valve came from NAPA PN 22198...

It had a sticker on it that said "Do not exceed 68 PSI" so I figured I should have a small margin of leway with it being that I'm at 62 PSI.

I'd like to here from anyone that's running dual tanks on this one.

I did the same swap and used the f body too. Wanted to do headers, but wasn't sure. That's on the to do list for upgrades later.

I didn't go with in tank set up, used a inline that works but I don't like the noise. Please post the final set up? Is the wiring setup from the 86 to the 87 a big deal?

I didn't like the noise of the inline on my racecar either...so I went inline.

Not to bad...I did run heavier gauge wire back to the pumps, as on an 86 all the wires do is switch the tanks. (They dont have to run any pumps).

So how do you control the pumps is there a relay for the 87? or did you just run a switch?

Wouldn't it be easier to just use the fbody long tube headers? They bolt right in place.

Well, I guess a lot of things "could" be easier...I like the look of these headers, just giving out some info, a new product not many swappers might have heard about.

I used a combination fuel pump and relay fuse block from an Olds Cutlass Supreme to run my fuel pumps, looks nice...works great.

I'll post pics as soon as I get the motor in and headers on. Having a little trouble "recruiting" help...so it might be a couple weeks...I can't stand it!
