yeah cam doctor is just a deal hooked to a computer to read all the ramp rates and basically blue prints the cam specs.
he could have had the cam mikronite(sp?) coated or something like that, that is supposed to help with wear.
I have seen some factory cores reground with great succes.
1 thing to remember when thinking about regrinding a cam is.....what are the specs of the cam now and what do you want to go to.
If you decide to regrind.....I wouldn't suggest changing the LSA at all.
You will also want to keep the lift about the same and maybe only change the dur. @ .050 10 degrees MAX!!!!
This will allow the cam grinder to remove the least amount of material possible.
This is TRUE for ALL cam cores from any manufacture.
Also...if a cam has been reground once....you might get by with one more regrind.....but I would never chance that.
