They are... But I think the engines in the GMT-900's are Gen IV's.

The new Sierra/Silvy=GMT 900
Gen 1 = original SBC 1955-2002
Gen 2 = LT1 & LT4
Gen 3 = LS & LQ series V8's with 24-tooth crank reluctor
Gen 4 = LS & LQ series V8's with 58-tooth crank reluctor
