got the rearend and a friend wants to buy it, gonna sell it to him for what it will cost for a auburn or eaton differential would cost, but i am trying to find out how i can find out my spline count someone mentioned about some number in the glove box if this is the case which number would it be... a good sample would help me figure it out ...
30 splines if its a 10 bolt rear end.

I like Auburns. My personal preference but the others may be better. Jegs sells them for $408.

good job! build it right. red has become increasingly helpful to me cuz he has explained that there is no reason to add power to an engine if u cant transfer it to the ground efficiently. thats why on of my next mods is going to be a new rearend with 3:73's. i just ran into a helluva deal on a few other things so again my plans have changed. also need to get the truck running correctly before anything else. i think im going to do that tomorrow after work. :sad:
ok one more question before i order these i see like 7.5 7.6 and or 8.5 8.6 now i need to find out exactually which one i need ....
88-2006 chevy fullsize trucks, 1/2 ton, have 8.5" rear ends. If you can afford it, buy the pro-series model. Its 542052, I think. Another $80.
