Well, I thought I would update where I am now.
I made my coil relocate setup. NO dogging me, I am not a fabricator! They are on the firewall now. They stick out off the wall a little bit, so I am not sure that will be their final home.
Also mounted the trans and oil coolers, still need to finish running the lines. That is about as far as I am going before I pull everything back out!
Do to the drop, I am going to have to swap the oil pan for an F-body setup. Gotta pull the motor to do that. Since it will be out, I will swap the flex plate and install the PI 3,200 stall. Trans will get a shift kit too.

I love the 68 swb trucks. Good luck with the build.
67 and 68's are the best,cool project.
that looks good SC! I wish I had took that route on mine. I wanted to build an older truck like the setup I have on the black truck.
OMG...an update!!!! First and foremost, :thumb: :thumb: WAY up for DBRODS!!!! Jon busted his butt on my truck, and I appreciate it tremendously!!! He can do just about anything, on anything. I HIGHLY recommend him for anything you need done. Also, thanks to Sticky Ricky Bobby for lending commentary, your muscles & helping out.
Anyway, Saturday after lunch we busted up the 'Ol Smurf truck. Complete front drum to disc swap. 2.5" drop spindles, 2" drop springs, all new rotors, bearings, seals, calipers, brake pads, brake lines, upper & lower ball joints, inner & outer tie rod ends. Jeff I borrowed your slicks on the front to roll the truck around...I hope you don't mind!
After that, Jon said lets see what it will look like with the new rear drop...
So, out come the factory rear coils (not until Jon broke the rear bolts out). 40 + years of grime and they weren't moving. PS, Jon has freakishly strong hands. So, out they come and we set her on the ground for about 7" of rear drop. Hmmm, with 31" tall rear tires, this thing is going to have serious rake. OK, take it back up, and pull the bumpstops. Ahh, 9-10" of rear drop and she will sit right!!
After that, the day was young, so we pulled the motor to swap the truck pan for my F-body pan & pickup tube. I also had Jon double check my cam timing to make sure I had the dots lined up. Didn't want to Dale my motor! (JFWY Dale!). All was well. Modified the truck windage tray to fit, bolted it back up, and dropped her back in. Also, checked the cylinders while the pan was off, still had the cross-hatch with 9x,xxx miles.
Next up, 4-link & new trans (TH400 w/transbrake).
I would post pics, but they are on Jon's camera.
Thanks again to Jon & DBRODS!!!! :greg:
So, where are the pics? :toetap:
