Even though the problem I had is slightly(or entirely) different from yours, here's something my truck did. I would take off driving with the high idle. Then I would stop, with the truck in drive, and sit there for about 20 seconds. The idle would then go down to where it was supposed to be and remain there until I shut the truck off. Once I restarted the truck, the high idle would return.
If your truck does the same, then you may have the IAC hanging open like myself. If not, then good luck! I tried...
Lastly, did you double check all your grounds? I know i missed one when I swapped my 6.0. It was one on the back of the block(didn't seem to affect anything though).
