I'm sure I can screw it up
yeah but man, its not too hard. unbolt it, put it on your work
table, take a pic of it lol, start checking it out. grab some brake cleaner an spray it down real good JUST incase a spring tunnel or something is clogged. or unbolt it an take it to a tranny shop an see if they can tell what is wrong with it.
ill help the best i can but its hard to do anything by not looking at it.
also, just because your tranny is an OBS tranny doesnt mean anything, it responds to the ecm an the "tune" is coded for an 02 4L80E imo. so next time you use a tech II just tell 'em its for an 02 2500 with the 6.0 an it SHOULD give a rough idea of where to look an what could be wrong.
.02 take it as you can man, i dunno anything about this problem
Alright. Got all the parts changed out and now I have first gear no problem. The truck drives much better and more consistently. But, I still have no 4th gear and no tcc lockup. Right now im thinking external wiring issue. Also, the 1-2 shift is very sluggish. It kinda pauses in the middle of the shift and then when it does it shifts HARD. Any ideas?
My 3-peice engine cover comes in tomorrow and then Im gonna clean up the wiring and stuff and take pics and probably a vid too. Ill post the stuff on here for anyone who still cares to see.
Do you have both VSS sensors wired in ?
No I only have the back one. I argued with my wiring guy and my tranny guy for like five minutes bout this. They swear that ever since like 05 they dont require it. Please let me know on this. My harness only has one so i dont know what to do if I have to add another one.
I want to see a video!
hmmm, not sure about the 05+ part. I know on my 96 4L80e it would bang into 2nd and never shift past that with only 1 plugged in.
Hmm I bet I need both sensors plugged in. If there isnt another plug in my harness how do I add another? Wouldnt it give a dtc if it required both sensors?
You can get a conversion harness from Nelson or speed Inc. Put it in then run the wires to the ecm. That's what I did on my 05 when I swapped to the 80.
Guess thats what I should have done. I thought the conversion harness essentially just moved the pins around so thats what I had my wiring guy do on the connector. Still, no one can tell me which pins exactly need to be changed.
