yup
now your playing too many games, find a 99-2001 engine harness. It will be red/blue on the ends that plug into the pcm. keep the pcm thats in your truck. (send it to nelsonperformance.com) no more silly questions! if thats too hard, pay someone to do the swap for you
easy blacstar it's my first swap ,
i got every thing but there is a problem ( i can't start the engine it's cranking but without really starting )
i tried reset the pcm so many times so any idea's ?
i changed spark plugs + new battery + cleaned up intake manifold & injectors ,
i have 2001 5.3 with harness + PCM i throw away my old engine with pcm in yard for now .. i know if send it to allen it will work like a charm but i live in saudi arabia that mean i have to send to him which will cost me a brand new one :/

at least you didn't waste 2 weeks chasing wild geese to find out your Wait4Me tune wasn't telling your coils to fire :rolleyes: & have the tuner swearing up and down that you & 3 professional mechanics didn't hook something up right

try to get around VATS. nelsonperformance.com used to have an instruction page for it, but i can't find it now
i tryed everthing , after i run out of any ideas i take it to a workshop who have been known for tuning GM cars here ..
will probably need another pcm
they manage to start it but the engine sound poor i think main bearings are loose or something

it's all good now i have another engine and it run great thank god ,
i have a small problem for now ( im planning on using the clutch fan for some time before i upgrade to E-Fan ) v8 fan shroud i can't install it at all
v8 radiator cost nearly 160$ used , what to do about it ? buy v8 radiator or modify the fan shroud ?

or just don't stick your fingers down there. it ain't a question of V6 or V8 - it's the 28" vs 34" radiator. all 1/2 tons had the 28" for the first few years, but you need the 34" for e-fans... or if you have the bigger one, get the shroud from a 3/4 ton
will i will have to change the radiator after all today i take the for road testing ,
and when i stop at garage i fond that the stock gear cooler mix oil with water :/
here we know those cars by size like ( 1500 , 2500 HD ) 3\4 ton is 2500 ?

Oh yea i guess that would help..Its going in a 2000 GMC half ton truck...I have bought the 07 6.2 and a 05 6.0 both out of escalades.

@ jeff hefler, convert to cable and grab a v8 harness(engine/trans) from a 99-02 truck, return style fuel injection, electric fans, program the red/blue computer and run it! the 6.2 will need this

from that time till now i have P0178 - Fuel Composition Sensor. Sensor Circuit Low Volts
sensor price is $647 i don't want to spend any money on this thing it's useless over here
Jesus Christ that's not a "Flex Fuel Sensor" it's the god damn EVAP solenoid. Instead of your gas tank venting to the atmosphere, it vents through that and the truck burns off the fumes. That's why it has a line to the tank.

Hey guys. Just wondering, if I get a LY6 with the 4L80E, is it going to follow the same protocol as the Gen3 swap info here? Or are we digging up a whole new animal?

same. 4l80 will mount about 7 inches further back than that 60e. but that swap has been done many times before. You would follow the sticky and use a v8 harness for a 2002 truck and then conversion box 24x-58x
I've read over this thread and didn't see my question addressed. My truck is a 2002 4.3 5 speed 4x4. I know I need a harness from a 99-02 v8 truck as well as a new fly wheel and clutch, but does the harness have to be from a manual trans truck to avoid other issues?
