ok...found it!!!...it has something to do with the small plug on the neutral safety switch.....which the wires are

....and with 3 different harnesses and 2 different neutral safety switches and still having the same prob in every case,which makes me think it could be a problem with the tune...what do you guys think?
with everything plugged in besides this plug the temp gauge doesnt jump around and seems to be reading right.
i cant get anyone at nelsons to return my calls....i guess i can put my ecu in a buddies truck and see if his does the same thing...will this work?
what will happen if i leave this unplugged and try to drive it?

ok...put the ecu in my buddies truck and guess what...same thing happened to his truck...i guess i could have got a bad ecu...it does happen. i just hope nelsons is kind enough to send me another!
im so glad i can quit searching for shorts...cuz evidently there arent any and its a computer prob!
im so happy right now...my truck might not be fixed but at least i know what the problem is!!!!

it could be something small/overlooked in the tune, or its just not registering right.. have you put your buddies stock pcm into yours at all?

no...i didnt even try it knowing from past experience with the VATS
