Beefing up a 6.0

Hello, I have just sent my 6.0 to the machine shop to be disassembled cleaned and reassembled. The bores will stay the same and the pistons and connecting rods are not damaged so they will be put back into the 6.0. The cam and connecting rod bearings will be replaced, new rings and the cylinders will be honed.
What I would like to know is what came can I use on the 6.0 with the stock 317 heads to enhance performance.
I want to be able to use it everyday and be able to make long trips everynow and then.
I would appreciate any assistance and guidance that I can get.

I would like to be able to make it a daily driver with AC,PS and PB but with the omph. I will be using the factory LQ9 intake. I bought the long block from a salvage yard. I got the LQ9 intake through ebay with all the rails and the stock throtle body. I&#39;m putting it into a 1970 chevy shortbed, it&#39;s approx. a 3,000 lb body. The stock ph is fine but a few more horses would be nice. I think cam and springs may be the answer without having to do major work on the heads.
What do you think?

While the oil pan is off, install ARP rod bolts :thumb: Long-tube headers are a performance must. A popular cam is the Comp 273, but with a truck like you are describing with a final curb weight similar to a F-body I would not be afraid to cam similarly. But my opinion is biased, I like large cams.

Thanks, I&#39;ll start looking for the long tube headers and start with a 273 cam.
