I think the conversions require a stand-alone controller to work (IE the stock computer can't control it). I don't think the controller is out yet.
I don't know what the gear ratios are but it would be sweet to have the take off of 4.56's and the economy of 3.42's.

The 680LE is a 4 speed auto with two OD gears. For towing they do not recommend 6th gear but otherwise is is very stout. GM moved the software to the EBCM so at the present time there is no backward compaitiblity. However, I met a test engineer driving a preproduction version in a C5 so unless that car had the LS2 electronics package I am sure it can eventually be retrofitted.
Im diggin my 6 Speed Allison!! :taunt: I would love to try that new 6 speed in a gas truck. Its gotta make cruising a lot lower. I hope they lowered the 1 st gear ratio since they can make up for it .
Instead of spending a lot of cash on a 6L80, and trying to make it work. Why not try a Gear Vendors over drive?
the gera vendors is more for non overdrive trannys and adds more room for error at the track. I would rather have the 6l85 simply because of the extra gear to split the underdriven gears and a .70:1 6th gear for a bit better highway mileage. If im not mistaken first gear is i think 4.03:1 which would kick ass for a heavy truck at the track and to tow a trailer with.
Yes, it's really a six speed. I posted a ton of info on it at GMFS.com.
