Well, dad has agreed to buy me tires for Xmass, now the question is, what to get. Keep in mind that I do drive this truck every day, and will be for years, so longevity (sp?) is an issue. However, I still want a good performance tire with good traction (traction is a preety big problem right now :burnout: ) Any prefrencess? :help:

What size tire you running on the truck now? I am running Nittos 555 on my truck its 17 inch rim. I have had good life out of those, considering my first set was BF G's G-force. They gripped hard as hell but it was such a soft tire iI went through them in no time. :twocents:

Kumho ecsta stx- wears like iron and grips better than any tire in its class. If you want really good traction you will have to go with a tire that will wear quickly. I have burned the kuhmos on my trtuck since the summer and they don't show it at all. My stock tires melted under throttle, and traction was non exsistant.

I have the kumho's Ecsta STX 275/60/17 and I'm very happy with them, I still have traction problems but the kumho's have a lot of improvement compared with the stock tires.

Thanks for the advice guys

im gonna go with the Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's 275/40/17(and 245/45/17) in about a month...Tirerack has all 4 for like $430, and my buddy has the 20's and has over 20k miles on em.

I run Nitto truck tires. They balanced out good and ride great. I am happy

I second the Nitto 404s. Then are much better than the Yokohama AVS I had before. However I have heard extreamly good things about the Kumhos.

i have friends that say get the Yoko AVS and the Nittos but say stay away from the Kuhmos...maybe because they drive sports cars the tires have slightly different driving characteristics.
