My Gas needle just went nuts, some times it,s ok, othe timer jus flat empty and most of the time bounce all the way, even with tank at full!!!!!
Read this problem before here before, and you guys there have a part number for a sensor that must be change in the internal fuel pump arregement!!!!!!!!
Here the wana sell me the whole ansembly ($800) caue they don't have the sensor apart.
Can anyone tell me the part number for that sensor, cause I have this friend that is going to miami on thursday and comming back on sunday, so I want him to bring me the replacement.
Can any one help me please?

for mine they had to replace the fuel pump, hopefully it will be an easy fix man. you can get a new ac delco fuel pump from ebay for like 150 shipped

Is not the fuel pump, Is a new Walbro replacement in the same case as the old OE went in.
Is something yellow that have a sensor thet gives the fuel level!!!!!
Let me try to get that post in mechanical around here!!!!!

trace the wires. Sounds like a short or bad ground.

Mine started acting strange lately too. If the truck idles, or sits stationary for any length of time, the gauge drops to empty. If I shake the truck, or accelerate, it goes back to the correct fuel level.
Anybody have this before? I'm thinking it's a problem with the float, or the sending unit in general.

Very common problem. It's the sender in the tank. I have replaced several fuel pump assemblies for this problem. You said you replaced the pump but it sounds like just the pump not the housing that has the sender on the side of it. The sender can be removed from the pump housing but I don't think it's available without the pump assembly.

That sounds like the sender. It is available from GM, but it is around $180 or so I am thinking. I can check tomorrow.
Like Chev5.3 said, score a whole setup off ebay for $150 or less. Cheaper than the GM sender and you get a free spare fuel pump!

Yur right guys, I changed the punp, but not the housing.
Check the housing by the NET
